Luke Moore

Luke Moore

KCO co-founder Luke Moore lives, breathes and sleeps music. After taking up the cello at the age of eleven, Luke developed a continuing thirst for making new music that now forms a central part of his life.

Whilst at Keele University, Luke became actively involved with the university’s musical life and after graduating with a degree in Music & English, continued to have new orchestral and choral compositions performed. Able to turn his hand from cello to bass, guitar, piano and double bass, writing and arranging, Luke’s passion for making fresh music means he occasionally has the opportunity to work with a variety of other artists across a variety of genres.

As KCO cellist and pianist, Luke especially loves to use improvisation and different techniques to embody global flavours into the songs- from Middle Eastern harmonies to Bollywood-inspired string sounds and filmic melodies. His main influences include Mahler, Philip Glass, various film and video game soundtracks, Kraftwerk, Faithless, Muse, Goldfrapp and Hybrid.

When taking time out from rehearsals, gigs and KCO’s behind the scenes work, Luke has a flair for cooking, enjoys playing squash and has a weakness for sci-fi TV, films and video games.
