At the age of twelve, Kevin was simply blown away when he heard Bruce Springsteen’s Born to Run for the first time. This pivotal moment in his life ignited his passion for making music and an aspiring songwriter was born.
Starting by putting poems he’d written to music, Kevin strummed his first guitar after buying it for ten pounds from a car boot sale before writing new songs from scratch and taking inspiration from the world around him. Kevin feels that he learns most about music from listening to as wide a variety of music as he can from around the globe and in turn, he has developed a songwriting style that is infused with a wealth of musical flavours. He is also regularly asked to sit in on rehearsals and performances by other singer-songwriters looking for tips on how to take their music to the next level.
As KCO front man, Kevin has grown into a confident, charismatic and versatile performer who loves nothing more than performing on stage. His motivation to both make fresh new music and take it to new audiences is so strong he believes it was responsible in helping him overcome pneumonia at the end of 2008!
Aside from the music, Kevin likes to keep fit and enjoys playing sport, as well as watching films from his expansive film collection.
